Case study · Website creation

Designing a cultural website for artists and exhibitions.

We created L-Asso’s WordPress website using a custom ACF architecture: artists, exhibitions, projects, workshops and residencies each have their own content type, with filters, search and practical information.

The starting point

The project context.

L-Asso needed a cultural website capable of supporting an active content collection with artist profiles, exhibitions, projects, workshops, residencies, introductory pages and contact information, while remaining manageable by the team.

The challenges

What needed to be addressed.

  1. 01

    Structuring a solid editorial foundation

Create distinct content types rather than managing artists, exhibitions, projects, workshops and residencies as a stack of ordinary pages.

  2. 02

    Making content filterable

Provide artistic disciplines and categories so visitors can explore artists, exhibitions and projects without getting lost in an extensive catalogue.

  3. 03

    Keeping the website manageable

Allow the team to publish, categorise and update a regular cultural programme without recreating layouts for each new entry.

What we did

The work, step by step.

  • Created L-Asso’s WordPress website.

  • Designed an ACF architecture with dedicated content types: artists, exhibitions, projects, workshops and residencies.

  • Set up taxonomies to classify content by artistic discipline and category.

  • Created templates and dynamic lists for artist, exhibition and project pages, with filters and search.

  • Integrated practical information: opening hours, address, email, newsletter, social media and contact form.

Under the hood

The technical choices.

  • Custom ACF architecture

The website uses distinct editable content types: artists, exhibitions, projects, workshops and residencies, with fields adapted to each type of entry.

  • Taxonomies and filters

Content is organised by artistic discipline and category to populate filterable artist, exhibition and project pages.

  • Templates and search

List templates, internal search and dynamic displays make an extensive content collection usable without managing everything page by page.

For visitors

What you find when you arrive.

  1. 01

    Distinct content types

The website separates artists, exhibitions, projects, workshops and residencies into different areas, with fields specific to each entry.

  2. 02

    Usable listing pages

Artist, exhibition and project pages display filterable lists with disciplines or categories such as painting, photography, sculpture, installation, engraving or mixed media.

  3. 03

    Useful search

Internal search complements filters to help visitors find an artist, exhibition, project or practical information.

Who visits, and why

  • Visitors and art enthusiasts

Explore exhibitions, filter by artistic discipline, find an artist and prepare a visit to Paris’s 20th arrondissement.

  • Artists and project organisers

Understand how projects, workshops, residencies, exhibitions and artist profiles are organised before making contact.

  • Regular audiences and partners

Follow L-Asso news through the newsletter, social media and programme pages.

What the project delivers

The project’s tangible features.

The items below describe the functions and documented work for this project. They are not measurements of traffic, enquiries or revenue.

  1. 01

    Stronger content management

The team can maintain an extensive programme with dedicated entries and categories rather than manually duplicating pages.

  2. 02

    More effective journeys

Visitors can explore artists, exhibitions and projects through structured entry points, filters and internal search.

  3. 03

    More accessible contact

Opening hours, address, email, newsletter, social media and the form make it easier to get in touch or prepare a visit.
