We created and developed the Institut national de psychanalyse website around its purpose: bringing practitioners together, sharing knowledge and organising international meetings. A custom presentation, six language versions and a move to i-n-p.org preserving the old addresses.

The starting point
Chaired by Rodolphe Oppenheimer, the Institut national de psychanalyse brings practitioners together around texts, schools of thought and seminars. The website needed to make this purpose clear, give meetings their place and explain how to join the association. The initial version on insnapsy.fr was reworked, expanded with an “Our project” page, translated into six languages and moved to i-n-p.org.
Client website
The opening screen combines a large typographic composition with a profile illustration in a consulting room. Navigation leads to its guiding principles, seminars and information on joining the association.
The challenges
Visitors needed to recognise a place for practitioners to meet and share knowledge. The homepage needed to connect theoretical references, methodology, seminars and membership arrangements.
The international purpose needed to be reflected in navigation and pages. Arabic and Hebrew also required layouts adapted for right-to-left reading.
The move from insnapsy.fr to i-n-p.org covered public pages, language versions and member area access. Old addresses needed to keep leading to the right destination.
What we did
Created and then redesigned the public website to present the Institute’s associative and international purpose.
Structured the homepage: purpose, intellectual heritage, methodology, seminar announcements, news and membership categories.
Created an “Our project” page from the supplied texts, with editorial sections, an introduction to the chairmanship, questions and answers and homepage links.
Deployed French, English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and Hebrew versions, with language navigation and appropriate reading direction.
Created a custom presentation with large typographic compositions, burgundy tones and illustrations accompanying the different sections.
Migrated to i-n-p.org: redirected old URLs and updated canonical addresses, the sitemap and links from the Rodolphe Oppenheimer portal.
Adapted the member area to the new domain and checked the published website on desktop and mobile.
The project presented covers the public website, its multilingual development and domain migration. Reading resources, the calendar and directory announced for members are not presented here as already delivered features.
Multilingual website
The work combines content, layout and continuity of addresses during the domain change.
Each language has its own pages and navigation links. Arabic and Hebrew use appropriate reading directions in the document and interface.
The homepage leads to the detailed introduction page. Titles, descriptions, canonical addresses and sitemap accompany page publication.
Old addresses redirect to their equivalents on i-n-p.org. Publication included backups, checks of transferred files and verification of public pages.
For visitors
The heading “Where psychoanalysts meet” introduces the website’s purpose, followed by seminars, founding texts and dialogue between schools of thought.
Our Project, Heritage, Methodology, Seminars and News provide distinct entry points into the Institute’s introduction.
The website presents three membership categories and explains application review. Visitors can understand membership requirements before applying.
Who visits, and why
Read about the project, understand its guiding principles and identify the role of dialogue between schools of psychoanalysis.
Choose their language in the navigation and find the Institute’s introduction in an appropriately adapted layout.
Read seminar announcements, distinguish membership categories and understand the stated steps for joining the association.
What the project delivers
These items describe the delivered pages and features. No increase in traffic or membership is quantified in this case study.
The homepage sets out the Institute’s main themes. The “Our project” page explores its approach further and answers frequently asked questions.
The selector provides access to French, English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and Hebrew. The last two versions use right-to-left layouts.
i-n-p.org hosts the website. Redirects from insnapsy.fr preserve page paths, including those of the language versions.
